Sex and the City and Summer Resolutions

Happy Saturday/Weekend! I love me some weekends! I have spent my morning watching cheesy lifetime movies, OTH, and not Sex and the city! Love it! As I am sitting here thinking about how much I stinking love this show and want to watch the movies. :) I am sure you can imagine John's excitement!

While watching I began to think of my New year resolutions and how easily we all forget them. Now, to be honest I do not even usually have a "NYR" but, this year I decided to conform...a little. I made a list of things I wished to accomplish this year. Well, one of the things I really wanted to do this year was start my photography venture. So, here we are.... a little under 2 weeks until summer where I will have the most time to really dive deep into this project. I really struggle with how I want to go about it all/how i would like to marke
t it/what type of photography I would REALLY enjoy. To be honest, I really love photographing my pups. I just don't know how successful of a business pet photography can become. I also really enjoy kids. Obviously... it's my job. But I enjoy photographing my kiddos... so it's another possibility. I will just continue praying about it and just see what way God leads me, but until then.. if you want your animals or kids or whatever photographed... I'm your gal! :) Here are some of my favorites of my little guys...

Bachelorette Bracket

Happy Friday!

I love Fridays, and they would be my FAVORITE day if only it was an actual day in the weekend part of the week!

Anyway, I am beginning to really grow and obsession for blogs! I love reading them!!! A friend of mine from college has come up with this Bachelorette Bracket for all those Bachelor/Bachelorette fanatics, like myself!I will confess, guilty pleasure!!!They compared it to fantasy football, but with the bachelorette, hehehe! Anyway, I am pretty excited about this and doing it with a few of my favorite gals! :)
How does this bachelorette bracket have anything to do with blogs you might ask? Well... this friend of mine was mentioned on Ashley S. (last season with Brad) blog! Pretty exciting!! Anyway, just another new person to follow!

You've been DIRK'D

Yes, that's right. Thunder was "Dirk'd" last night for sure!!!

Dirk had 48/121 points last night and made all 24 of his free throw points! Actually breaking the record for most consecutive free throws in a playoff game made!

However, my man Dirk was not the only play maker last night! I am so proud of this entire team!!! You can really feel how badly they want this title while watching them play! I am so excited to watch the rest of this series! I am thinking a 5 game series, but how awesome would it be for another sweep!!! I am going to try to see if i can ebay some tickets for a non-insane price.... wish me luck and....

LETS GO MAVS!!!

In other, possibly equally exciting news... there are only 10 more wake ups with kids until I am kid free for the summer!!! That just sounds so nice! :)

That's all I've got for now... have a beautiful day!

Case of the Monday's

How ironic is it that we watched Office Space last night and I most definately have a case of the mondays this very beautiful yet not so beautiful in my life kind of day. I will just say this: there are parts of my job that not too often, but can really frusterate me. The parts that just aren't exactly what you signed up for and really get to you occasionally. Welp, today is one of those days. I had to actually call my mom for a bit of encouragement because I was so frusterated I was letting it just completly ruin my day. My mother, most of the time is definately someone who can bring me back down to earth and focus on the important things. I got off the phone with her and prayed. Just have to remind myself that there are 12 days of school left, and to just let it go. Some people have a chip on their shoulder and there isn't a thing I can do about it...nothing I say is going to change the situation so I won't even bother.

I really just needed to let out my frusterations on this post. I guess what else is a blog for really, right?? Sharing your thoughts and some days they just aren't fun ones! Untill next time!

Take me out to the ball game!

Sundays. I usually find them quite depressing.... some people view it as the first day of the week, others, myself included, see it as the end of your freedom for another 5 days. I guess you could call me a cup is half empty kinda gal in that department. However, only 13 wake ups until summer freedom and I CAN'T WAIT!

As gloomy as I find Sundays... we had the opportunity to go to our first Rangers game of the season with one of our most favorite couples: Elyse and Bryan! John and I were rather excited for some ballpark hotdogs, and oh boy did we indulge! I am for sure ready to get back on the workout wagon! Anyway, Elyse works for the Dallas convention bureau (or something along those lines) and gets the hook up and we got to be a part of the hook up this time with awesome seats! All in all a very fun day!! Thank you Elyse! :) Here are a few pictures from our little outing.

Other than baseball we had a nice weekend spending time outside! We had a health fair up at school....being the dedicated teachers we are, ofcourse we spent some time up there helping out. John had a flag football game and left pretty early into the event, leaving me the exciting job of directing kids in a fund run. After that was over the lovely Lisa and I were nominated to stand on the corner of a major road nearby with a huge sign....in attempts to bring more people into the event. FAIL. It was windy and didn't go to well for us, but did provide a good memory and a lot of laughs, that's for sure! Notice how "sever" the wind was by the beaten look to our sign... see, DANGEROUS to be out there! As Lisa would say " We were lucky to not have been blown away to Mesquite!"

Anyway, I am in major need of some beauty sleep! I feel like this week will be another FUN one, woohoo! So, until next time--

"Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other? "

I was channel surfing and had stopped on Evan Almighty and watched the scene of Evan's wife talking to (unknowingly) God. I really just thought it was interesting and thought I would share.

green thumbs

First of all, what a gloomy day!! Ugh! I can't stand days like these: the in between, not sunny...not rainy...just overcast. Make up your mind! I enjoy me some rainy/stormy days (even more when I am being lazy at home...but they aren't too bad at school either). Days like today are just so hard for me to get motivated. I feel bad that I am already shutting down for the summer. Can somebody slap it out of me, please!

On a more exciting note-- probably the highlight of my day.... the Kindergarden. "What is that" you might ask? Well, John and I started a kinder garden for my students, or the whole grade... i guess... when we got to the unit on plants. It has been a huge success!! We have been having a mini harvest for a couple of weeks now. I think we've had 5-6 strawberries, 1 tomato, 6 radishes, and peas! I used to (still do at times) make fun of John and his green thumb but man-- I am loving being a little gardener! It's so exciting, I might get more excited than the kids do!!! The fruits and veggies are just so fresh! I took some pictures of the new exciting developments to share below:

We have 3 different raised beds, and this is a shot of all 3, 2 of the last one because the cucumber and zucchini just needed to have a picture all themselves.

Our Spinach, peas and cantaloupe!

Baby bell pepper, zucchini, cucumber and Roma tomatoes!

strawberries, cantaloupe, peas and more spinach!

Anyway, it has definitely been a great learning experience for not only the kids but myself as well! That's all I've got for now----

my love!

I just wanted to share this photo of my favorite furry friend...

g'nite!

16

16....So many wonderful things come in 16.... like: the age at which you can drive, 16 DAYS OF SCHOOL TILL SUMMER!!!! (So, i guess there aren't that many things but the second is pretttyyyy dang exciting!) I am blessed enough and thankful for a job that I love, and enjoy almost every day ((you know, we all have our days)) but when april and may come around-- the spring fever kicks in and I am ready to be done with kiddos for 3 months!! My friends always give me grief when this point of the year rolls around when I feel all I can say is "I'm so ready for summer!!" because how hard is my job, or they don't get a break. Well, let me tell you. 5/6 year olds are exhausting! Parent's are exhausting! Demands that the state and your district puts on you are exhausting! I feel like I can safely say this for most teachers--- TEACHING IS EXHAUSTING! Your brain is pretty fried by the end of the year and you almost MUST have those precious months to recoop from the emotional, physical and mental strain you have been under for the past 9 months! Seriously. All of that to say, I am so excited for this summer. To be honest, there are not really any exciting plans in my near future, but spending endless amounts of time with my man and my pups just sounds wonderful to me!

Today has been a stressful day for me. Pretty sure that is everyday until the end of the year, but today in particular. The little things that drive us crazy, grrr.

Welp, that's all i've got time for now! Until next time!

mimosa on a cloudy day...

Well. Talk about an overdue entry!!! I am sitting here at my NEW dining table with the windows in my place all open and listening to the wind blow the leaves on the tree in the back yard, sipping my delicious mimosa ((made with low cal OJ mind you!)... thinking how I have neglected my new blog for over a week.. .:/

In my defense I just completed moving into my new place as of late yesterday evening. It was a 2 day affair, and it was just miserable. I think we could all safely say that there is nothing fun about moving! :/ However, here I am sitting in my new...covered in boxes.... cluttered...yet perfect new home! I am so incredibly excited about this new part of my life!! ((Pictures and updates on this to follow))

With moving comes the lack of time or effort to workout muchless P90x. John, in attempts to make me feel a little better told me that i was on a p90x routine for the past 1.5/2 days so not to feel TOO bad. However, you know when you move... and everything is packed up... you tend to make not so wonderful eating choices. It is not the end of the world, I know, but still kinda sad. I am scared to step on the scale in fear that I gained my 7ish pounds back. I am SURRRRE I am making it sound so much worse than it really is. I can say that it has been interesting to see how my tummy has changed! We ordered dominos at ohhhh about 11pm ish on Friday night in the middle of moving. (yes you heard me right... moving still at 11 on a friday, LAME!) I could barely eat 1 piece of the pizza.... just not used to eating that crap ((sorry dominos)) anymore!

All that to say, tomorrow starts a new week and with that new week comes a "redo" week of p90x. I am going to rewind a bit and try to forget that this week happened.... extend the 90 days a little bit so to speak. ;) Wish me luck getting back into the routine!

Stay warm with this chilly weather!!! I will be bundled up with a blanket, watching Dakota play monster.. here....
